Fatah, Hamas sign pact to form unity govt
25.04.2014 11:08

After seven years of rift the two rival Palestinian factions have signed an accord with the intention to form a unity government. Prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu was expecting that Palestine would choose peace with Israel, but it chose peace with Hamas instead of peace with Israel.

The agreement was signed in Gaza City by Ismail Haniyeh, the Prime Minister of Hamas, and a senior Palestinian Liberation Organisation delegation dispatched by Abbas to end the discord between the two factions. Earlier both the factions had signed reconciliation deals in Doha and Cairo but were never implemented.
